  • Three Phase Automatic Voltage Controller Stabilizer is an industrial robot which first monitor items rectifier the voltage variation round the clock & whenever there is any voltage fluctuations, it rectifiers to the desired level in few seconds.
  • The Basic purpose of AVC is to maintain the desired voltage and to reduce the breakdown of electrical equipments due to low/high voltage. Power saving Reduction in MDI and improvement of P.F. will be added advantages at high voltage.


Capital & Interest cost is just 1.5% per month.

  • Saving by reduction in breakdown of electrical equipment and energy saving shall be 4-8 times of capital & interest cost. Voltage variation is common phenomenon. The input voltage is generally low during day time and high during night hours.
  • Apart from above, few months in a year/few days in a month/few hours in a day the voltage is either low or high due to the following reasons:
  • Holidays
  • Peak Hours
  • Rain Days
  • Agricultural Load
  • Weather Conditions etc.

Details:
Voltage fluctuation is a common phenomenon in every part of the country. The industrial units running around the clock, usually face the problem of low and high voltage. 90% of industrial load is of motors. Electric motors draw considerably high current at low high voltage.

This higher current affects the electrical motors (Particularly smaller capacity motors up to 7.5 H.P.) in three ways:
  • Higher current produces higher losses in electrical motors which cause premature failure of winding.
  • These higher losses of electric motors also increase the losses of cables, switches, transformers and others associated equipment.
  • For smooth continuous operation of motors, overhead relays are usually set at 20% higher setting.

Adverse Effects of Single Phasing:
  • The line current increases by 1.5 times.
  • If the relay setting is at 15-20% higher than actual operating current than the relay will take 4-6 minutes to travel.
  • The motor (particularly smaller capacity motors up to 7.5 H.P) cannot withstand this high current for such a long time and in most of the cases it burns out before the relay trips.
  • Heavy short circuit current flows through the relays, contactors, cables, etc.
  • Under this condition, the relay and contactor trips produce sparks and sometimes it also bursts.
  • This further damages the switchgear and in some of the cases may cause fire also.
